The investigation of variations in languages helps linguists understand the fundamental principles that underlie language differences, innovation and variation in time and space. Geolinguistics investigates those variations and compares them with geographical data on contact between people from different areas. The heterogeneity of linguistic projects can limit the reusability of linguistic tools and data collections. In this talk we present a linked open data approach to increasing the level of interoperability of geolinguistic applications and the reuse of the data. We will present an ontology for geolinguistic resources, a system for exposing geolinguistic data, and a web application to support linguists in the investigation of language variations.
