Patent Machine Translation has become one important application in the field of Machine Translation and has aroused more attention in recent years. In this presentation, I report some recent research on Chinese-English Patent Machine Translation. I will introduce the rule-based translation system developed by our team, which mainly focuses on three stages: analysis of source language, transformation of source language and generation of target language. These stages involve several specific linguistic phenomena in Chinese and corresponding solutions. Besides the rule-based method, I also introduce the hybrid translation approach that combines rule-based with SMT, aiming to improve the translation performance.
