RALI-OLST-ILFC Weekly Talks
On Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. (Montreal time), we hold a one-hour talk on a language processing or linguistics topic. It is typically offered in hybrid mode (in person/videoconference). Once a month, the talk is organized by the French research group Linguistique Informatique, Formelle et de Terrain.

Salle 3195, Pavillon André-Aisenstadt
The talk describes a system for automatic acquisition of aligned, bilingual corpora from pre-specified domains on the world wide web. The work is motivated by the need for large, domain specific, low cost parallel corpora in a variety of applications. One particular application, which is the adaptation of a part of speech tagger from English to French, is described and discussed.
